Protect the route while the carrier keeps moving

As an escort, watch the path between your teammate and the team jail. Pressure opponents who threaten that delivery and avoid chasing somebody away from the carrier. Help your teammate turn the fight you won into a prisoner in the cage.

Standing beside the carrier is only part of the job. You also need to notice approaching enemies, the next crossing and pressure at the destination. A delivery can fail while both teammates are looking at the downed opponent instead of the route.

Agree who carries and where you are going

After the knockout, let one teammate collect the opponent. Confirm the destination and position yourself so you can see the next threat. A quick “I’ll cover; go to our jail” tells your teammate what to do.

If your ally is already carrying, do not spend time attempting the same pickup. Watch the route and cover your teammate. If they hesitate because the approach is crowded, identify an opening or regroup together.

Keep the team’s base location in mind. If you follow without checking the destination, you can both end up changing course under enemy pressure.

Scan beyond the nearest opponent

Check a different part of the route as the delivery progresses:

Delivery stageEscort’s focus
Body being collectedEnemies approaching the pickup
Leaving the fight areaOpponents moving toward the route
Crossing exposed groundThe far end and nearby cover from teammates
Reaching the team basePressure at the entrance and cage
Prisoner depositedDamaged bars and the next defender handoff

You do not need to hit every opponent visible on the map. Prioritize the one interfering with the trip. If another enemy retreats away from the carrier, do not let that movement pull you out of position.

On a narrow map crossing, look at the far end before the carrier enters. If enemies are waiting there, warn your teammate and use support to contest the approach. The shortest path is not automatically the easiest one to protect.

Reconnect after pressure splits you

If you move away to challenge an opponent, check the carrier’s position again immediately afterward. They can continue toward base while your fight draws you in another direction.

When the pair becomes separated, regroup toward the delivery route rather than continuing a distant chase. Tell the carrier where you are so they know where to expect support.

Watch the transported opponent’s state after contact. Do not assume a particular hit always forces a drop, or that the carrier is protected merely because you attacked the interceptor. Check whether your teammate can still continue the trip.

Finish with a defense handoff

Stay aware of the delivery until the opponent reaches jail. Then scan the bars and approaching rescuers. If the cage is under pressure, the escort can become the outside defender while another teammate repairs.

Tell somebody before leaving that duty for the next fight. If you leave without saying anything, the carrier can assume you are still guarding the jail.

If deliveries repeatedly fail, identify the route stage that was exposed: pickup, crossing, entrance or defense afterward. Practice covering that stage before deciding that stronger equipment will solve the problem.

Use carrying enemies for the carrier’s side of the pair. The repair guide explains what to watch after the deposit.

FAQ

Should the escort pick up the body too?

Let one teammate carry and cover the transport yourself. Switch jobs if needed, but do not leave the route unobserved.

Do I chase enemies who run away?

Keep your attention on the carrier. Follow a retreating enemy only when doing so still serves the delivery and support remains available.

Where should I look at a narrow crossing?

Check the far end and opponents approaching it before the carrier crosses. Warn your teammate when the route is contested.

When is escort duty finished?

Confirm the opponent reaches the jail, then hand off any defense needed at the cage. Do not leave simply because you entered your base.
